NestProof started when our daughter Stevie made every room feel new.
We are Greg Smith and Kate Smith, parents first and builders second. When Stevie arrived, we quickly realized baby-proofing was not a single weekend project. It was a whole new way of seeing our home.
Our Story
In 2025, after we had our baby daughter Stevie, the ordinary parts of our home started to look different. The coffee table edge, the loose cord, the cabinet under the sink, the outlet near the floor - all of it suddenly mattered in a way it never had before.
Like a lot of new parents, we wanted to do it right, but we had to learn fast. Through 2025 and into 2026, we spent nights and weekends reading about baby safety, comparing products, figuring out which approaches were practical, and sorting through the dos and don'ts of real baby-proofing.
NestProof came from that season. We wanted one calm place to organize what we were learning, keep improving it as we learned more, and share it with other families who were standing in the same room asking the same question: what should we handle first?
This is not a faceless baby-safety brand to us. It is the result of becoming parents to Stevie, realizing how much there was to understand, and wanting to make the process less overwhelming for the next family.
Why we made NestProof
To share the lessons we wished were easier to find.
We built NestProof to turn years of parent research into practical room-by-room educational information. The goal is simple: help families think through common considerations without panic, pressure, or endless product searching.
